Full Circle Moment ⭕️
My Full Circle Moment | Raleigh International Brand Ambassador Announcement | Volunteering is a Career Accelerator
Today is a very special moment for me.
I’m incredibly honoured to share that I will be the Brand Ambassador of Raleigh International. See Raleigh’s blog post announcement here.
This is a full circle moment for me. I will tell you why in a second, but first…
What is Raleigh?
Raleigh is an International Volunteering Organisation. It has had some incredible people do their expeditions. Raleigh Expedition will take you on a three-phased programme, encompassing up to two meaningful projects and an adventure leadership trek.
Alumni include Astronaut Tim Peake, Kate Middleton and even Prince William who volunteered on a Raleigh Expedition to Chile in 2000.
Raleigh is a very special community, now over 60,000 alumni and every person that has ever participated on an expedition over the last 40 years would tell you it was life changing for them.
So back to my full circle story…
15 years ago, in 2009, I was a 21 year old law graduate who didn’t know what I wanted to do next, until I found Raleigh.
After spending 7 months volunteering in Borneo building kindergartens, water-feed systems and trekking in primary rainforests.
I left Raleigh with more that I could imagine.
Lifelong friendships
Skills that helped my career.
The ability to build a team and lead.
Resilience & drive I didn’t even know I had.
And an experience that shaped my values in wanting to have a wider impact.

To give you a further glimpse of what it’s like I’m going on a Raleigh expedition.
Next week I’m going to Costa Rica and I’m bringing you with me. I’m going to show you what life is like on an expedition and interviewing some of the volunteers.
So the newsletter will look a little different the next 2-3 weeks while I’m out in Costa Rica with Raleigh - I will share exclusive moments here.
The full form newsletter is back mid April with a new look.
Going on Raleigh is a Career Accelerator.
If you are thinking of changing career or not sure what you want to do next?
I can first hand recommend how going on Raleigh whether at the age of 21, 35 or 50 will give you new perspectives, challenges and skills you didn’t have before.
Currently Raleigh are running expeditions to Costa Rica and South Africa.
Going on Raleigh and volunteering is a career accelerator!

That’s all for this week. If this helps at least one person then I’m happy.
If that’s you let me know 👊
